Parasite Case of the Week 4

Welcome back to the Parasite Case of the Week!  I post a new case every Monday, along with the answer to the previous week’s case.  Here is our new case for this week:

The following was found in a lung wedge resection from a South American patient with hemoptysis. It measures approximately 5 mm in length. Identification?

5 mm is pretty huge for a worm egg, right?…..It’s in the sputum, doesn’t have any spines, and it’s got an operculum at one end. Could it be Paragonimus?
