BeWellnm Health Insurance Extends Enrollment Deadline - Los Alamos Daily Post
ALBUQUERQUE — beWellnm, the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, is extending its enrollment period and premium payments for effective coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2022.
New Mexicans now have until Dec. 31, 2021 to enroll and pay their premium to receive coverage for Plan Year 2022 starting the first of the year.
New Mexico residents who would prefer to have effective coverage beginning Feb. 1, 2022 still have until Jan. 15, 2022 to enroll.
“BeWellnm is extending the opportunity for New Mexicans to receive continuous health insurance coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2022,” beWellnm CEO Jeffery Bustamante said. “With the deadline extended to Dec. 31, we can ensure that New Mexicans have as much time as possible to submit their enrollment and secure comprehensive, affordable coverage through beWellnm.”
BeWellnm is offering dozens of affordable plan options across multiple carriers, including dental insurance. All plans will continue to cover the 10 essential benefits such as doctor visits, hospital stays, maternity care, emergency room care, prescriptions, and more.
Health plans must permit New Mexicans to enroll regardless of health status, age, gender or other factors that may predict the use of health services.
The beWellnm Open Enrollment Period will close Jan. 15, 2022 for Plan Year 2022. If New Mexicans enroll by Dec. 31, 2021, their coverage begins Jan. 1, 2022. If they enroll by Jan. 15, 2022, their coverage begins Feb. 1, 2022.
