She has spoken candidly of her incredible weight loss after shedding eight stone following gastric sleeve surgery.

And Chanelle Hayes looked happier and healthier than ever during a fun day out with her son Frankie at the National Coal Mining Museum earlier this week.

The former Big Brother star, 33, took to Instagram on Monday to share a series of sweet snaps with her son, three, whom she shares with her ex Ryan Oates.

The mum-of-two cut a chic figure in a sky blue jumpsuit as she was pictured playing with her little one on an outdoor climbing frame.

The brunette beauty stepped out in the colourful ensemble, which featured ribbed detailing, cap-sleeves and a flattering tie-waist belt.

Chanelle looked lovely as she styled her choppy locks in subtle waves and sweetly matched her son by wearing glasses.

She playfully captioned her fun-day photo set: 'Insta vs Reality.'

'Frankie and I went to the coal mining museum the other day. I can’t believe that in a couple of weeks he turns 4 then a few days later he STARTS SCHOOL. Do any of you guys feel like your youngest are still just babies when actually they’re growing so fast into little humans?!'

'I never get to take many photos when I’m out with the kids because a) I have to pay them 20p per photo and b) they both think they’re too cool to have pics with their “embarrassing mum”. I don’t know how people can be so organised and their kids so obedient they are actually able to get loads of lovely pics. I have a job on just getting us all sorted and out of the house lol.'

She also added a slew of captions to document her day at the museum: '#mumlife #momlife #mumbloggeruk #momblogger #parenting #adultingishard #family #weightlossjourney #weightloss'

WHAT IS BARIATRIC SURGERY?

Bariatric surgery is a variety of procedures designed to help a patient lose weight.

Surgeries include reducing the size of the stomach with a gastric band, or removing part of the stomach through a gastric sleeve.

It also includes gastric bypass surgery, in which surgeons reroute the intestine to a small stomach pouch which shrinks the stomach.

Explaining how a change in mindset helped her to practice self-love and see herself differently, Chanelle previously revealed: 'I’ve realised over the past few years that I am what I tell myself I am. When I was bigger, I thought of myself as “ugly”, “the funny, fat friend”, “not worthy”, “disgusting”.

'But even when I was a size 6, weighing under 7 stone I still felt not good enough and was constantly comparing myself to others who were that bit prettier or thinner, smarter or more popular.'

She continued: 'I don’t confess to be magically “fixed” and to hold the secrets to learning to being happy all of the time. But every single day since 1st August 2020 I have told myself I am good enough, I am smart enough, I am pretty enough, I am HOT STUFF. I don’t care whether anybody agrees, I compete only with myself and achieve only for myself.'

Admitting she can still struggle with self-acceptance, Chanelle added:' I’m not happy everyday, I have bad moods and negative days but I am the most content with myself I have ever been in my life.

Chanelle decided to have gastric sleeve surgery in August last year and has since dropped from a size 18 to a size 10.

The procedure dramatically reduces the capacity of the stomach in order to aid substantial long-term weight loss.
