04/9 Workout regime

I indulged in functional training and performed exercises such as metcon, kettlebells, body pump, buzz pump, animal walk, buzz spin. In addition, I also performed cardio workout including treadmill run, stair stepper, cycling - both indoor and outdoors.

05/9 Fitness secrets I unveiled:

Functional training is the best for weight loss. It helps keep your body toned.

Inclination workout ( eg- stair stepper with incline, treadmill with incline) reduces your belly fat.

Physical workout releases your mental stress too.

Consistency is the key to sustainability. Consistency delivers results.

Increase the intensity of the workout slowly and gradually. Do not do high intensity workout on day 1 itself as it will harm your body.

06/9 How do I stay motivated?

Staying motivated is extremely important throughout the journey. Here are some of the things that keep me going.

I tend to frequently dress up now(without any occasion sometimes) to feel good about being fit. This makes me happy and keeps me motivated.

I keep participating in various cardio events like marathons, cyclothon, etc. Completion of such events keeps me motivated as it gives me a sense of achievement.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: Your mind plays a huge role in maintaining your focus. While your body can lose its way, but with your mind in control, you can achieve everything. Remember to control your mind if you want to control your body

07/9 What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

Not only did I feel bulky from within, But I also looked over aged. My personality and confidence dropped drastically and the more weight I began to gain, the more lazy I became. The more I ate, the more I gained. Being overweight also lead to mental stress.

What was the lowest point for you? - The lowest point was when none of my trousers fit my body or rather my belly. I weighed 93 kgs and I couldn’t let it go unnoticed.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?- My aim is to become more consistent. I wish to remain healthy, participate and try new and different physical workouts and keep the body as young and flexible as possible. I expect my body to be continuously fit, young and flexible in the upcoming years.

Here are some of the changes I made to my day to day routine.

- I am more self aware of how much portion I eat (specially junk food and desserts)

- I have become an early riser now (I wake up at 5.30 in the morning) and I sleep early too.

- I finish my dinner early ( I finish by 6.30 pm as compared to 10pm previously)

- I chew on my food properly now.

09/9 Lessons learnt from weight loss

Hard work pays off and there is no shortcut to success. Everything is possible if you are determined. That said, here are some lessons I learnt from my weight loss process.

- Regular exercise should be a part of your life (just like sleeping, eating, bathing, etc)

- Consistency is the key to become successful in any phase or arena of life. In short, consistency is the key to sustainability.

- Regular workout not only helps your body stay in shape, but it also releases mental stress, keeps you fresh and energetic for the entire day, and inculcates a sense of achievement in your mind. Besides, it helps you sleep well, increases your focus and improves productivity in whatever you do.

- Weight loss is easy, however, maintaining it is a challenge.

- Always have people around who motivate you and uplift your spirits.
