02/7 The turning point

When I had finished my class 12 board exams and preparing to go to the hostel and start my college life, I had the vision to lose weight at any cost and only then enter college. I lost around 20 kilos initially, and after that, gradually started to lose the remaining weight.

03/7 Diet followed

My breakfast: I used to take 80 grams of oats, 1 scoop of whey protein with a tablespoon of honey

My lunch: Scrambled eggs (4 whites +2 whole eggs) and 110gms of Whole wheat bread

My dinner: On alternate days I have would have high-protein tofu and soybean subji with 2 chapatis.

Pre-workout meal: Half a scoop of whey protein

Post-workout meal: Greek yoghurt with strawberries and muesli.

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): While I do indulge once in a while, I keep on tracking my meals and even what my cheat meals are. Some of my favourites are dosa, idli-sambhar, paneer butter masala with roti.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Scrambled eggs are a whole meal in themselves, and a low-calorie one at that.

04/7 Workout followed

I work out 4 days a week- 1-day chest tricep, delts, quads and 2nd day - back biceps, hamstring, calves, shoulder and abs.

I take days off on Wednesdays and Thursdays and on Friday I repeat what I did on Monday and Tuesday.

05/7 Fitness secrets unveiled

You have to carve out a workout for yourself which suits your needs and specifics. That can be a game-changer. For example, the personal workout plan I was following enabled me to train every muscle 2 times a week...

How do I stay motivated? To be very honest, I do not ever want to go back to the shape I was in before. Just by imagining the state, I was in, and how I looked before, I stay motivated.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I am still studying and prefer to work out early mornings. This has actually benefitted me immensely since I have more energy and focus to concentrate on my tasks and lectures ahead.

06/7 Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Chiselled and fit. Following a very healthy lifestyle and being an inspiration to others at my age.

What are the lifestyle changes you made? I started eating healthy wherever I would go and avoided junk food and sweets. Another change was to follow calorie restrictions and only eat what I was supposed to according to the limits and requirements for the day.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight? It is very difficult and tiring to be so overweight. You can’t even run. Nor you can do push-ups and chin-ups

What was the lowest point for you? Because of my weight, I used to tire out performing the simplest of tasks or couldn't even perform basic exercises. It made me realize my health was in a sorry state at such a young age.
